Superbowl En Espanol

Anyone who knows me knows my love for good coffee. So our day started out great with coffee from the Juan Valdez Cafe. We then went downstairs to the courtyard for a beautiful Catholic mass outside. It's neat, even though it is in Spanish, our mass is so universal we can still follow along. It was then time to have lunch and we stumbled upon this great Mexican restaurant, La Taqueria. It was Luke's first time out in a highchair with us and he did pretty well. We then picked up some groceries and headed home for our Superbowl party. I know the Eagles weren't playing but Kenny would never allow me to dress Luke in a Manning jersey (even though he is one of my favorite players). So we dressed him in his cute Eagles outfit and Kenny was happy. We were thrilled we were able to watch the game. We weren't sure if we would get it here or not. But fortunately we did. The game was announced in Spanish and didn't have any of the fun commercials, but at least we were able to see each play. Luke had a good time rolling around and playing and every now and then would take in a play or two of the game. But anyway, we are here one week already. It's gone by really quickly and we've enjoyed every second of our time with him. Kenny and I were just discussing how amazing it is how he molds so naturally into our arms, smiles when we enter the room, or looks for us when we leave a room. It's almost as if he was waiting for us the past 7 months just as much as we were waiting for him.

  6. La Taqueria was one of our favorite places when were we adopting Carmen at this time last year! Seeing the (mouth-watering) Club Colombia beer, and with you saying you love food, I suggest you eventually get a babysitter and go to the actual Club Colombia for dinner. The food and wine service are amazing, the locals with think you are super-rich when you tell them you went, and you'll spend ~$60 US per person for all courses with drinks. Just have your hotel get you a cab there and Club Colombia get you a cab home. My husband did food blogs, so you can look at our blog's Feb. '09 postings for reviews in English ;)-Laura

We're all excited to see what's happening with you every day. Bea and Grandma Jeanne are here with me tonight and they are in love with Luke. Keep the posts coming. We love hearing from you and seeing the great pics.

P.S. Uncle Mike says Luke is cute but he'll be even cuter in Yankee Blue. :)
