To our faithful readers, we are so sorry there was no post for Thursday. We had no internet service last night and when we called down first thing this morning they said they were working on it and it would be restored shortly. So we'll start with Thursday and tell you a bit about our day/night. Kenny went into the office to work and Luke and I played and napped, so nothing too exciting to report there. Then we headed over to Betty's place (another wonderful choice of residence where adopting families stay here in Bogota) to meet the Kuligowski family, Mark and Susan and their two children Lauren and Helena. Lauren is almost three and Helena almost two, and they are so cute. Lauren was adopted from FANA as a baby and they are here now adopting Helena. It's pretty neat because the two girls are actually biological siblings. When we arrived at Betty's, Mark kindly gave us a tour. We were always curious to see Betty's place because we had heard so many wonderful things about it. It was really nice and we could see why so many families were so happy here. We met Alicia, the wonderful babysitter, who has watched children at Betty's place for many, many years. Yes, we really did leave Luke with a babysitter while we went to dinner with Susan and Mark. Kenny and I were completely comfortable with Alicia, obviously, or we would have never left our son. So we kissed Luke and told him we'd see him in just a bit. He was fine with Alicia entertaining him as we left. We took a nice walk to a restaurant called Carbon de Palo, where we all enjoyed a great steak. Susan and Mark are really nice people and we really enjoyed spending time with them. On the walk home I started to wonder what Luke would be like when we returned, since this was our first time away from him in two and a half weeks. Well he went wild when we got to Betty's. He's usually a really happy baby, but I don't think we've ever seen him so thrilled. I held him and he just kept looking at my face with that big gum smile, jumping up and down in his brace for about ten minutes. It was so sweet and such a great feeling for us. After posing for some pictures and saying our goodbyes we hopped in a cab and headed back to our apartment. So all is well and we had a really great night Thursday. Sorry again to those wondering where we were.
