We still can't believe it is already our third Sunday here. We again enjoyed mass outside in the courtyard and then did some shopping at the market here at the hotel. We ended up talking to some of the vendors who were really nice. One in particular took a special interest in Luke. She had asked what brought us to Colombia, so we explained about the adoption a little bit. She was amazed by the length of his eyelashes, as are we. She said his eyes tell such a story, one of a peaceful, happy, intelligent baby. We of course agreed fully. We then headed back to that Mexican restaurant we ate at last week to have lunch. Once again the food was really good. We went to Carulla to pick up some groceries and to introduce Luke to our ritual of Sunday grocery shopping (although at home it's Wegmans not Carulla). Sunday is really nice here. They close down one whole lane of traffic for several hours and open it up to people walking, riding bikes, etc. It's much easier with the stroller on the road than on the very bumpy and uneven sidewalks. We stayed in the rest of the afternoon/night since Luke was having trouble napping while we were out today because he's so interested in everything going on around him. I still can't believe it's been about 2 weeks since we first held him. We've learned so much about him and ourselves. We've learned he loves to be held and rocked to sleep. He loves the feel of anything soft near his face. He loves to eat and sleep just like his mom. He loves his bath time. He loves to be read and sung to. When we sing to him he just looks deeply into our eyes and listens so intently. It's really sweet. He loves to hear himself babble and different babbles mean different things. We've also learned he hates to get dressed and undressed and hates having his diaper changed. He hates being dried off after his bath and absolutely hates having lotion put on his face. I think part of the reason he hates getting dressed and undressed is because Kenny and I found out we're not too great at it. It's quite comical at times and I'm sure us laughing doesn't help his agitation. But overall all three of us are doing well and we now have two weeks in. I know to our family it seems like it's been forever and of course we miss home and our family, but we're still looking forward to some exciting weeks ahead. Starting tomorrow with our tour of FANA and getting our social history on Luke's birth parents. Well Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. And mom, thanks for Luke's card. I included a picture of him opening it and of course trying to eat it.
