Bienestar Interview

We had our Bienestar interview this morning. (we included our picture-all dressed up for the interview). For those of you not familiar with the process, I'll try to explain the best I could (although I'm not quite sure how it all works myself). Thank God for the wonderful people here who walk us through the process and tell us where to go and what to sign. The Bienestar, as it was explained by our driver, is like child social services back in the states. The purpose of our interview this morning was to make sure Luke is bonding well with us and we are bonding well with him. The woman who interviewed us was really kind and everything went smoothly. Our driver was the translator and our attorney was there as well. The woman from Bienestar then signed an approval for our adoption of Luke to enter the courts. They said we should find out tomorrow what court number we have been assigned to and then we just sit tight and wait for everything to be processed. After our interview Luke took a really long nap and Kenny was able to catch up with work and I had time to pay some bills. It's funny being thousands of miles away and spending each moment loving your new baby-you tend to forget that things in the real world continue to go on and need to be addressed. Later in the afternoon we headed down to the cafe for some great coffee. The couple we met last week from Spain (who are adopting Carla) also had the same idea to have an afternoon coffee break. So it was nice to spend some time getting to know them. We relaxed the rest of the night. Kenny had his first run in getting peed on by Luke during his bath. It was quite funny. Well we're off to watch him sleep now. Have a good night.

  3. It sounds like you guys are getting closer to coming home! GREAT! I'm not surprised that your interview went well...I could tell from your pictures that the three of you have bonded from day one! Oh Kenny, you are going to have to learn to dodge those streams during bath time, and watch your back during changes...Jess, you are next to be christened.Be careful! Love you guys!
