Luke fussed a bit through the night last night, but not too bad. Kenny headed off to work today and Luke and I stayed in all day. He napped a lot throughout the day which was great for him, and I got to catch up on some real life things that I all too often forget exist, like paying the bills. It's been four weeks now that we're here and I totally understand the feeling one of our buddy couples described. You are just living in a world of your own, spending each moment loving your new precious baby, and you kind of forget the world outside of your own is still going on. I know it's out there and in time we will be returning to it, but for now I am thoroughly enjoying the world we are living in. But anyway, I think Luke is starting to feel a little better. He's playing better, and is still a bit fussy, but not too bad. Tonight we had plans with Marty and Martha (the couple from Spain who adopted Carla from FANA) and the family from Texas who are here adopting their second child, a son, from another private orphanage here in Bogota. Instead of going out we decided to get together in Marty and Martha's apartment, which is great because it is right next door to our apartment. Luke was more his pleasant self tonight. Carla had been asleep since 7:30, John fell asleep by about 8:30, but not Luke. He is so afraid he is going to miss something. So he laughed and chatted with everyone much of the night, but then within about 5 minutes of getting into our apartment he was fast asleep. So, we had a really great night and they are all such nice people. We all share this wonderful bond of adoption and these beautiful children that we have been so blessed with. Kenny and I were discussing earlier how just a few weeks ago there were these three children whose home was Bogota. And now Luke will head to Pennsylvania, Carla to Spain, and John to Texas. It's pretty neat to think how the lives of these three children will be so different in different parts of the world, yet each will now be so wonderful with a world of opportunities awaiting them.
